Two days to go … and come Friday, Dale and I head off on two weeks of not-long-enough annual leave.
Purpose – to spend some special time particularly with Dale’s dad in NE Ohio but also some other family. We’re looking forward to it, though work-wise the days leading up to it have been as full-on as! We’ll also catch up, as we’ve done most trips for a while now, with a high school friend of Dale’s and her husband.
A trip with a difference this time. Most of the time there will be a bit of a road-trip. Maybe not quite like in the movies, but nonetheless one involving 30 hours of driving. I love driving in the States.
Driving that will take us from Garrettsville Ohio all the way SSE to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where I’ve been lined up (sorry for the poor pun) to assist Dale and her Dad with some
serious fishing from one of the long, long piers there. Me and fishing is a bit like me and Australian Rules football. 🙂 We’ll stay at Kitty Hawk – yes, of Wright Bros. fame for a few days, before heading west (another 10 hours) to visit Dale’s brother and sister-in-law Dan and BK. We might travel a portion of the wonderful skyline drive to get there. Then home via Pittsburgh, PA.
OK, back to work for now.
Cheers,
David
