relax

Hi,

People over the years have said I need to relax more; that I’m way too serious at times. They’re right of course.
Mind you, my ISFJ personality type, a penchant for perfectionism, the demands of ministry in a local congregation – not the least being that evenings or weekends are optimal times to meet with people … all means that I don’t take time out anywhere often enough. I’m sure my well-being suffers for it
Well- about a month ago, at Dale’s encouragement, took the plunge, arranged the weekend off ministry and booked some airfares and accommodation … overlapping with Dale’s final weekend intensive at Mt Druitt (west of Sydney) for her ACU Masters in Religious Education studies.
So glad I did. We hired a little Nissan Micra for 2 hours which allowed us to:
* take a lovely drive to/through places like Camden and Bowral
* at Bowral, check out the Bradman Museum. So good!
* drive then to our friends Stephen & Ruth Holt (& kids Abigail and Antony) at Illawong
* (only low point) “rescue” Dale by driving her – NOT original plan- to Mt Druitt

Last 24 hours has included:
* checking via wotif.com into well-situated hotel right in CBD
* enjoying a lovely 3 hour dinner Harbour cruise. Perfect weather.
* while Dale attended intensive Day 2, I checked out Powerhouse Museum, especially Narnia and (yes!) Wiggles exhibits. Both were so well done
* doing my “Sydney ritual”. That’s right, taking ferry to Manly, walking the Corso to beach and eating lunch there

This has been a much-needed few days.
Relax, David. Relax!

Blessings,
D
