we go in peace to love and serve

Hi!

Been some time since I posted.  Just written a new “going out” song for worship.  I have this rising conviction that we need to be a whole lot more intentional about the music which concludes our worship; which sends us out in mercy and mission.   So here’s my newie.  Well … not totally new.  I’ve adapted those words used in some circles at the very end of worship: Go in peace to love and serve the Lord.  In the name of Christ. Amen.

Quite intentionally the song is:

short
upbeat
folky
minor key

See what you think.  Here are the lyrics below.   Click here for a leadsheet.

We go in peace to love and serve
We go in peace to love and serve
We go in peace to love and serve
the Lord our God
We go

In the name of Christ we go
In the name of Christ we go
We go in peace to love and serve
In the name of Christ we go
